are we human....or are we dancers ?

I have no idea what the song is about, but like many, I spend 75% of my SL time dancing so it sounded a good catchline for this blog.

It's tricky, the first post, I'm sure there will be plenty once I get going, it's just what do you start with ? Hence it is now 8 days since I launched the blog !

One of the questions I used to ask when getting to know someone in SL, is 'what is SL to you' ? Some people had thought a lot about it, but for some it was the first time they had even considered the meaning of (second) life...to them.

For me, I've never really had a mission here, I first heard about SL when Radio 1 here in the UK decided to put some events on at their own island, and now two and a half years on I'm still taking the same approach of really just existing here and seeing where SL takes me.....Sometimes there are really exciting opportunities to get involved in, and great new friendships to make, and these can be all consuming sometimes.....Other times you end up sitting on top of your house waiting for the next chapter to arrive, and usually it doesn't take long. If you are between your SL chapters....say to yourself 'right i'm going to give SL a break for a while' - that usually means something will come along and ignite your interest once more !

Whilst i'm open to whatever happens next in SL, I do live it by certain values, and bring those from RL, because whatever people say, there is a real person behind every real Av, with real feelings; and whilst SL might be a nice escape from RL, I just think it's best to escape responsibly. Have a great time yourself, and try and make other people's SL lives enjoyable too. I'm personally not here for a romantic relationship as i'm committed to my RL, and i'm not here for any drama or grief, just like in RL - if there's a problem, talk it through, calmly, try see the other side...

Whilst i'm not here for a romantic relationship, sometimes great companions come along to share SL with, and deep friendships can form, there's no problem with that, as long as the other person knows where you both stand.

To me SL is about the laughs, the friendships, and the little communities that spring up, it's great to part of something, and I have had quality, hilarious, enlightening times in this place, with many more to follow.

How serious do i sound after all that ? I'm just a thinker that's all, hopefully it will make me a good blogger...if I haven't exhausted myself on the first post !

Just need some readers now ;-)
